Slovak Paradise
Slovak Paradise is a tangled maze of deep, narrow gorges and tall waterfalls. Thanks to the dense network of marked trails and literally hundreds of footbridges, ladders, chains, and other aids, you can reach places that would otherwise be inaccessible.
Among the most popular hikes are the ascent through the Suchá Belá gorge and the route through Prielom Hornádu. More adventurous hikers who are comfortable with heights can try the climb alongside the 75-metre-high Závojový Waterfall, hidden in Sokolia dolina.
Most gorges in Slovak Paradise are one-way, and the route often follows the streambed itself, crosses footbridges above the water, and includes long ladders beside waterfalls.
For these hikes, sturdy waterproof boots are highly recommended — or you can make peace in advance with spending several hours in cold, wet shoes.
